Just wanted you to know that I finished the manuscript and thought you did an excellent job. This story has affected me greatly. It gave me a chance to glimpse into my father's past and learn things I didn't know while understanding things better that I did know. I wish you all the best with it and hope you find a publisher. To me, the most unique facet of the book is that it is one of the few Vietnam War stories I have heard that does not have actual war in it! That, to me, is a great hook. I have been wanting to write a book about my experiences in Vietnam but every time I would begin something would happen and I would lose my train of thought. Two years ago I met Andrea Hartley and her goal back then was to get a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. Andrea is a fantastic writer and was looking for a true story to write about and she suggested we write about my story. Together we would spend a few hours a week, on the phone, with me telling her about my experiences. We averaged a chapter a month and in one year we completed 12 chapters & the book was finished. The book was approved and Andrea received her Master's Degree in Creative Writing. It amazed me how well she captured my experiences exactly as I told her. Andrea was never in Vietnam and so she had to take time to research what she didn't understand so as she wrote the story it would become more factual. It was amazing to me how great the book turned out. Andrea has a real talent for writing about other people's experiences. I am very excited and happy with the book she wrote for me.
